Postdoc in Distributed Systems / Data Science Systems


The division of Software and Computer Systems at the Department of Computer Science, KTH, is looking for excellent candidates for two postdoctoral positions in the area that lies at the intersection of distributed systems, data science, data intensive computing, machine learning and deep learning.   The selected candidates are expected to have a strong background and passionate interest in topics of at least two of aforementioned areas.


Applicants must hold or be about to receive a doctoral degree in Computer Science (or equivalent). The doctoral degree must have been obtained within the last three years from the application deadline (some exceptions for special grounds, for instance sick leave and parental leave). The candidate should have a strong background from at least two of the areas distributed systems, data science, data intensive computing, machine learning and deep learning. 


The application should contain the following:

  1. CV including relevant professional experience and knowledge.
  2. Copies of diplomas and grades from your previous university studies. Translations to English or Swedish if the original documents are not issued in one of these languages.
  3. A research statement on why you want to conduct research in areas of Distributed and Data Science Systems, about your academic interests and how they relate to your previous studies and future goals; max 2 pages long.
  4. Representative publications or technical reports: Document no more than 10 pages each. For longer documents (eg dissertations), attach a summary (abstract) and a web link to the full text.

Postdoctoral researcher, Neurosciences - microglial heterogeneity in tau pathology


The Laboratory for Cell Biology and Histology at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences is seeking to fill a full-time vacancy for a Postdoctoral scientist in the area of Neuroscience.

We are therefore looking for a positive and skilled colleague who is eager to take the lead in this new, challenging study. As the Laboratory of Cell Biology and Histology also runs the Microscopy Core Facility, the successful applicant will benefit from access to cutting-edge microscopy infrastructure.

Profile and requirements

  • You hold a doctoral degree in (Bio-)medical Sciences, Biochemistry, (Bio-)Physics, Bioscience Engineering, Veterinary Sciences or equivalent.
  • Experience with microglia, single cell sequencing, light sheet microscopy and/or image analysis is an asset.
  • You co-supervise PhD students and other team members next to which you will also contribute to small educational tasks (e.g., practical exercises).
  • Part of your job will be the organization and management of project applications.
  • Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy.
  • You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative.

Claire-Deschênes Postdoctoral Fellowship Competition.


The goal of the Claire-Deschênes Postdoctoral Fellowship Competition is to promote postdoctoral training for women who will also be offered a professorship position in engineering at Université de Sherbrooke. This competition is open to all women wishing to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in order to pursue a career as a professor of engineering at Université de Sherbrooke.

The eight fellowships will be awarded in two rounds of four fellowships.

The first round is currently open to all areas. Complete applications must be received by no later than March 1, 2020. Candidates selected for an interview must be available between March 30, 2020 and May 15, 2020.

Once the four initial fellowships are awarded, the areas of the four remaining fellowships will be made public.  

For the second selection round, applications in the four remaining areas will be accepted until September 13, 2020. Candidates selected for an interview must be available between October 19, 2020 and November 27, 2020.

Postdoctoral position: Molecular mechanisms of cardiac diseases


A postdoctoral position is available at the newly created Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) starting April 1, 2020, for a project supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation focusing on the molecular mechanisms mediating cardiac diseases. The research interests of our laboratory are focused on the molecular and pathophysiological mechanisms promoting cardiac dysfunction. Toward this end we are investigating the function of multifunctional signaling complexes regulating pathological responses in cardiac cells and we aim at developing molecular strategies targeting these complexes as a primary mean to prevent heart failure.

Post-doctoral position in cannabinoids and HIV-1 research


A postdoctoral position is available at the Cochin Institute ( in Paris, under the supervision of Dr. Yonatan Ganor, in the laboratory of Mucosal Entry of HIV-1 and Mucosal Immunity, headed by Dr. Morgane Bomsel.

We study the potential use of cannabinoids in preventing mucosal HIV-1 transmission, focusing on Langerhans cells (LCs), the initial HIV-1 cellular targets within mucosal epithelia.

Candidate profile:

We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow with a PhD in life sciences, preferably in immunology or neuroimmunology, and strong interest in virology. The enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate should have at least one first author publication, and be capable of working independently and developing this research axe. Experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques, microscopy and flow cytometry, is highly appreciated.

Post-doctoral position in Human Immunology


A post-doctoral research position is available immediately in the team of Dr. Salvatore Valitutti at the Cancer Research Center (CRCT) of Toulouse, France. The position is funded by a collaboration with the Institute of Research in Informatics of Toulouse, the University Hospital of Toulouse, and Bristol-Myers Squibb France.

The ideal candidate for this position has background in immunology and is interested in studies related to the immune mechanisms and their regulation at the immunological synapses. Experience with human immunology is desirable as well as excellent capabilities with primary cell culture and/or strong expertise in imaging techniques.

The specific aim of the project is to define the molecular mechanisms of tumor cell resistance to cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) attack at the immunological synapse with the purpose of enhancing CTL efficacy in tumor eradication and efficacy of immunotherapies in cancer patients. The research will be performed on clinically relevant samples using recently acquired latest-generation imaging techniques.

The CRCT is a newly built INSERM, CNRS, Toulouse University research center specialized in research in oncology, hematology and immunology. The center is located in a modern biotechnology campus and is adjacent to the Clinical Cancer Center of Toulouse (IUCT Oncopole) allowing CRCT scientists to work in close cooperation with clinicians.
